"Cause... I can"...help out!
"Cause... I can"...live my life freely!
"Cause... I can"...never leave a Vet behind!
"Cause... I can"... give to 'Homeless Vets'!
"Cause... I can" is a group of individuals who came together in an effort to increase awareness and help our 'Homeless Vets'. Through "Cause I Can's" efforts funds will be raised and donated to the 'Homeless Vet' rehabilitative program established at "Room In the Inn", a non-profit 501C3 organization. 'Room In the Inn' is currently adding a new housing facility and renovating it's existing building making it possible for more rooms and programs to be offered. They provide a safe, drug-free environment with emergency care, transitional services and affordable solutions for America's Veterans. Their belief in community, training, and respect for each individual clearly exemplifies our vision for helping our Veterans get the tools they need to get back on their feet.
According to a report given by the "National Coalition for Homeless Vets"the most effective programs for homeless and at-risk veterans are community-based, nonprofit, “veterans helping veterans” groups. Programs that seem to work best feature transitional housing with the camaraderie of living in structured, substance-free environments with fellow veterans who are succeeding at bettering themselves.
Government money, while important, is currently limited, and available services are often at capacity. It is critical, therefore, that community groups reach out to help provide the support, resources and opportunities most Americans take for granted: housing, employment and health care.
The VA has approximately 4,000 agreements with community partners nationwide. These types of partnerships have demonstrated that groups are most successful when they work in collaboration with federal, state and local government agencies; other homeless providers; and veteran service organizations. Veterans who participate in these collaborative programs are afforded more services and have higher chances of becoming tax-paying, productive citizens again.
In an effort to increase awareness "Cause... I can" has announced that multiple hit songwriter, "Gary Hannan", has agreed to be the organizations spokesman. Gary, a veteran himself, is very passionate about the needs of our 'Homeless Vets' and helping those who have made it possible for us to live a life of freedom through their sacrifice. To help spread the word and gain a better understanding, Gary has decided to live as a 'Homeless Vet' for 8 days on the Streets of Nashville, eating, sleeping, and spending time at the mission, church, soup kitchen and under the bridge all during our nation's memorial for veterans. This will be an annual event for our organization.
Together we can make a difference..."Cause... I can"!
